Social Media; Transparency to the Public Eye

Social Media Fever

<img src="social.gif" alt="Social media impact on life's privacy" />

Hello Moms! Are you done posting your events on social networking sites like: Facebook, Twitter or Instagram? If you will ask me the same question, I would say ... of course I did! Actually, I regularly update my Facebook and Twitter account. Like any other moms, I'm also hooked on Social Media fever. I make the regular status updates, tweets, comments to other's posts, liking and sharing links. Social networking sites are like a park where you can enjoy and relax, forget the troubles that you've been through the whole day and socialize with other peers without stepping out of your home. But are you also bothered with the life's privacy and transparency issue versus Social Media?

Social media became our everyday source of fresh and trending news. It is now the most powerful medium that makes us much aware of the world we are living. It is a virtual community where people create, share and exchange opinions. We enjoyed reading interesting posts and got easily irritated with other's bad or negative updates. Sometimes when we are too happy, the first thing that comes in our minds is: what would be the exact paragraph should we use to make our status become interesting and likable that completely express how we exactly feel? Am I right guys?

Are you A Responsible Social Net worker?

social media abuse
While using the above-mentioned Social Media sites, I noticed that many users but, not all have one thing in common, they treat these sites as their online diary which I think is improper. Why? because privacy is being neglected and life becomes very transparent. I remember one instance when I posted my 5 year old daughter's drawing on my facebook account, when she saw it, she innocently asked me this question "mom, does everything has to be posted on facebook?" I was speechless and it took a while before I conceived an answer. Then, I answered, "of course not, my dear, it just so happens that mom is so proud of you" I also added that some good things have to be proud of as long as you're not hurting anybody's feelings. Some say that Social Media should be blamed for Privacy and Transparency issue, but for me it's the user who should be responsible for his/her life's transparency and privacy. Have you seen the TV advertisement appeared months ago? It's the "think before you click" advertisement? I just don't remember what company sponsored that advertisement, but it's exactly what we Social Media users should do all the time while we're online. It's a very simple logic, if you didn't post it, no one will know it!

Be Responsible Online and Offline
Social Media is good. In fact, it plays a very special role in our lives, whether personal or commercial aspects. We should appreciate what these social networking sites do good to our lives for free. In return, let's be responsible for everything we-post online. Let's maintain the good moral and right conduct that we learned in Elementary. Good personality doesn't stop after you log on to your facebook, twitter or Instagram account. It should remain in yourself whether your online or offline.

A better Way to Interact Online

Call center Online ApplicationI have a suggestion to make to avoid abusive use of these social networking sites. If you're a full-time mother, you probably have much time updating your social media account. What if you find some place where you can interact with other people using a computer like doing call center job? I've found a very good site where you can practice your ability in online interaction. Try to visit Sykes E-Recruitment Site. As a blogger, I had to research for a subject before I write a post about it. Upon browsing the SYKES site, I was so impressed about this company's credibility and attributes. SYKES have been providing technical and back office support to 500 FORTUNE companies for over 15 years now. It's the first ever company that gives opportunities to talented Filipinos. It's one of the well known companies who have a heart supporting less fortunate children by giving them a chance to access quality education through their scholarship program.

SYKES provides online application and live chat interview. No matter whether you are experienced or a fresh graduate, you are eligible to apply as a call center agent. Age doesn't matter as long as you passed the assessments. To work with 14,000 employees earning five digit income is really a good opportunity. I hope this one serves as a very useful information to all. So good luck mommies, I hope your next post would be "hooorraaayyy! I am now a certified Call Center Agent"!!!

  2. Hello Mommy Rea! I really love this post. I can relate with the privacy issues. Sometimes we're careful but other's don't by tagging photos from private gatherings. I also agree,that moms should seek for a home based job so that she can take care of the kids while earning money. May I ask if skyes E recruitment is a homebased job?
